About the Dunlop Destiny Program
The Dunlop Destiny Program is helping turn grassroots racing talent into the next generation of Australian motorsport stars.
Developed in partnership with the Circuit Excel Racing Association (CERA), the program provides promising young Circuit Excel drivers with opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach, from professional coaching with some of Australia's biggest motorsport names to driver development experiences and the chance to progress into the Toyota GAZOO Racing Australia 86 Scholarship Series.
It's more than a competition. It's an opportunity to learn, develop and take the next step in a racing career.
The Dunlop Destiny Program is exclusively for eligible Circuit Excel competitors selected through CERA-affiliated state clubs. It is not open for direct enrolment.
Who Can Participate?
The Dunlop Destiny Program is not open for direct enrolment or general applications.
To be considered, drivers must be current, financial members of a CERA-affiliated state Circuit Excel club, participate in eligible Circuit Excel racing and meet the program's selection requirements.
Drivers are selected through the CERA-affiliated state club process, Dunlop Motorsport has no weight in the selection process.

Imagine receiving coaching and advice from drivers who have competed at the highest levels of Australian motorsport. Through the Dunlop Destiny Program, selected competitors have had the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals including Paul Morris, Broc Feeney and Brodie Kostecki.
Their knowledge, experience and insights offer young drivers a unique opportunity to improve their racecraft, develop confidence and understand what it takes to succeed at higher levels of competition.
More Than Just Lap Times
At the heart of the program is a professional driver evaluation experience, previously hosted at Norwell Motorplex in Queensland.
Selected drivers are challenged through a combination of practical and educational activities designed to develop them as complete racing drivers. Previous evaluation days have included:
- Professional on-track coaching and driver assessment.
- Car control, racecraft and driving technique development.
- Data analysis and understanding vehicle performance.
- Physical fitness, recovery and mental preparation.
- Media skills, professionalism and personal presentation.
- Feedback from experienced motorsport professionals.
Every selected driver has the opportunity to take valuable lessons from the experience, regardless of who ultimately wins the program.

The program has already helped open doors from Circuit Excel into the Toyota GAZOO Racing Australia 86 Scholarship Series, giving emerging drivers the chance to experience a higher level of national motorsport competition.

From Circuit Excel to a National Championship
Tyler Collins is proof of what this pathway can help achieve. After winning the 2024 Dunlop Destiny Program, Tyler earned an opportunity to race in the Toyota GAZOO Racing Australia 86 Scholarship Series. In 2026, he went on to win the series championship.
His progression is a powerful example of how talent developed in grassroots Circuit Excel competition can grow through coaching, exposure and opportunities at the next level.
Eligibility Requirements
The Dunlop Destiny Program is designed for existing Circuit Excel competitors. To be considered for selection, drivers must meet the applicable requirements, including:
CERA-Affiliated Club Membership
Be a current, financial (paid-up) member of a state Circuit Excel racing club affiliated with CERA.
Active Racing Participation
Be actively competing in the relevant state-level Circuit Excel racing series. Simulator experience or an interest in racing alone is not sufficient.
Access to an Eligible Race Car
Have access to a compliant Hyundai Excel race car, either through ownership or a suitable racing hire arrangement, to participate in eligible competition, subject to the relevant event rules.
Competition Licence
Hold the appropriate motorsport competition licence and meet the relevant Motorsport Australia and event participation requirements.
Age Eligibility
Meet the age requirements specified for the relevant Dunlop Destiny selection period. The program currently targets drivers under 25; check the applicable rules for the exact age cut-off.
Selection Criteria
Demonstrate the driving performance, racecraft, professionalism, sportsmanship and other qualities assessed by the relevant state club and CERA.
Meeting these requirements does not guarantee selection. The Dunlop Destiny Program is a merit-based opportunity, with nominations and final selections subject to the applicable CERA criteria.
How Does the Dunlop Destiny Program Work?
Unlike an open-entry driver training program, Dunlop Destiny recognises drivers who are already involved in Circuit Excel competition and have demonstrated their potential through racing.
Become a Circuit Excel Competitor
Join your local CERA-affiliated state club, obtain the appropriate competition licence, arrange access to a compliant Hyundai Excel race car and begin participating in eligible Circuit Excel events.
Compete in Your State Series
Develop your skills and demonstrate your abilities in state-level competition. Performance, consistency, racecraft, professionalism and conduct all contribute to a driver's suitability for selection.
State Club Selection
CERA-affiliated state clubs identify and nominate eligible drivers from their competing membership according to the program's selection criteria. Final selections are subject to CERA approval.
Driver Evaluation
Selected drivers may be invited to participate in a professional evaluation day, where driving skills, adaptability to coaching, media abilities and overall conduct are assessed.

If you're passionate about motorsport but haven't competed in Circuit Excel racing before, the Dunlop Destiny Program could be something to work towards in the future.
However, you cannot enrol directly in Dunlop Destiny without first becoming an eligible Circuit Excel competitor.
Your first step is to contact your local CERA-affiliated state Circuit Excel club. They can provide information about:
- Joining your state Circuit Excel club.
- Getting started in organised circuit racing.
- Obtaining the appropriate competition licence.
- Buying or hiring a suitable Hyundai Excel race car.
- Participating in your state racing series.

Why We Developed the Dunlop Destiny Program
At Dunlop Motorsport, we recognise that grassroots racing is the foundation of Australia's motorsport community.
There are many talented young drivers competing at state level who have the ability and determination to progress further, but who may not otherwise have access to professional coaching, mentoring or higher-level racing opportunities.
